About Me
A creative at heart, I have worn many hats and held many roles throughout my life and career. I have a BA in psychology from Monmouth University and a masters in drama therapy from New York University. In addition to my formal education, I have trained in multiple treatment modalities including Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). I spent about five years with the the New York City Fire Department's Counseling Service Unit working with active and retired firefighters and EMS, civilian employees, and their family members as a full-time Mental Health Clinician/Drama Therapist. I gained invaluable experience working with individuals, couples, and groups, providing services in person, virtually, and over the phone. Upon leaving the FDNY I established my private practice: Samantha Artese Creative Arts Therapy. Drawing on a vast range of modalities and through a person-centered, collaborative approach, my practice aims to support clients though many seasons of life.
